Vigil for Immigration Relief Implementation

The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA), an immigrant rights organization based in California, holds a vigil the night before the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals holds a key hearing on President Obama's immigration relief programs this Friday in New Orleans. 

Members of the community, families, and leaders gather for prayer and to highlight the plight of millions whose fate lies in the hands of the courts now.  Families who are preparing to apply for DAPA and DACA extensions offer testimonies as well as faith leaders and local immigration reform advocates.

WHAT:  Candle vigil in support of immigration relief program implementation, currently on hold due to lawsuit filed against the US government by 26 states.  Songs, prayers, testimonies, and offerings.  The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals holds first key hearing on the matter Friday, April 17, 2015 in New Orleans.

WHEN: Thursday, April 16, 2015, 5:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.  

WHERE:  Our Lady of Angels Church, La Placita, in front of the Mural of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Los Angeles, CA

WHO:  Immigrant families who will benefit from DAPA and DACA extension, DACA qualified young people, immigration reform advocates, faith leaders, allies.
